The next IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be held in May 2020 in the Swiss cities of Zurich and Lausanne. The ice hockey nation Switzerland and the two cities of Zurich and Lausanne are excited to host this major event and to welcome the best ice hockey players and their fans from all over the world.
The games will be played in two locations. One of them is the Zurich’s Hallenstadion which will host the semi-finals and the finals. The stadium, which seats 11,200 spectators, is not so far from Zurich Airport, which makes it quick and easy to travel to.
The other location will be the Lausanne Arena. Lausanne is equipped with a regional airport where the Pilatus PC-12 can land and take-off. The PC-12 is able to fly at high altitudes and land at both large international airports and smaller airfields. This means you can choose an airport that is closer to your final destination.
